| ¡¡The central route begins with the Longquan Temple, which is a famous ancient temple in the west of Beijing where Buddhism and Taoism coexist (the Lord Wei enshrined here is as famous as the Goddess of the Miaofeng Mountain). Uphill from there, tourists can experience the ancient health preservation grounds, including the Immortal¡¯s Cave, the Three-Buddha Cave, the Xuanyuan Cave and the Immortal¡¯s Chair, from which they can appreciate the richness of the oriental health preservation culture and understand the determination and endurance of those who practiced asceticism in order to become immortals during the Liao and Jin Dynasties. Going further uphill, tourists can reach the Baita Reservoir, the Yinliang Pavilion where the immortals played chess, and the cliff-engraved characters ¡°·ï»ËÁ루Fenghuang Mountain£©¡± which are the largest of their kind in Beijing. |

| The south route is noted for natural scenery, with few man-made structures. Along this route, vegetation is thick. While trees are in great variety, hickory is predominant. Cultural sites include the Huangpu Courtyard, the Guandi Temple and the Luzu Cave, which constitute a religious ¡°triangle¡±. In particular, the myths about the Stone Buddha of the Northern Wei Dynasty, the Jingang Stone Pagoda, the cave on the ground floor of the Huangpu Courtyard and the once flourishing ¡°old north route¡± for Buddhist pilgrims to the Miaofeng Mountain are all worth exploring further. With a long history and picturesque scenery, this triangle is one of the most fascinating places in the Fenghuang Mountain Park. Today, the Fenghuang Mountain Folk Customs Tour featuring the Che¡¯erying Village has begun taking shape. Tourists may go into the peasant households and stay there for relaxation.¡£ |
