The south route is noted for natural scenery, with few man-made structures. Along this route, vegetation is thick. While trees are in great variety, hickory is predominant. Cultural sites include the Huangpu Courtyard, the Guandi Temple and the Luzu Cave, which constitute a religious “triangle”. In particular, the myths about the Stone Buddha of the Northern Wei Dynasty, the Jingang Stone Pagoda, the cave on the ground floor of the Huangpu Courtyard and the once flourishing “old north route” for Buddhist pilgrims to the Miaofeng Mountain are all worth exploring further. With a long history and picturesque scenery, this triangle is one of the most fascinating places in the Fenghuang Mountain Park. Today, the Fenghuang Mountain Folk Customs Tour featuring the Che’erying Village has begun taking shape. Tourists may go into the peasant households and stay there for relaxation.
