Golden Dragon BridgeIssuing time:2021-11-03 20:09 The Golden Dragon Bridge is a 1000-year-old single arch stone bridge. Built with the funds raised by Monk Jisheng, the first abbot of the Longquan Temple, the bridge is the largest and oldest stone bridge in a temple in Beijing region and bears witness to the temple’s 1000-year-long history. The original ornaments on the bridge have become hardly perceptible due to wear and tear. When the temple was built in the Liao Dynasty, this bridge was outside the temple. It was relocated to the present position when the temple was rebuilt in the late years of the Ming Dynasty. |
