Immortal’s ChairIssuing time:2021-11-03 20:10 The Immortal’s Chair is about dozens of meters away from the Xuanyuan Cave. The chair, carved from naturally piled granite stones, has two armrests and a back. The round holes around the chair can support poles to make an awning to shelter sunshine and rains. Behind the chair is a weathered rock, called “Bixie” or “Baxia” and alleged to be the third son of the dragon. Resembling a sea turtle, the rock can bear heavy weight. But what is on its back is a stone Buddha instead of a stone tablet. A folk song goes like this: Once somebody sits on the immortal’s chair, his sufferings and happiness will go away like smoke, he will pay no heed to worldly vanity and he will be happier than an immortal. |
