Stone ArchwayIssuing time:2021-11-03 20:12 The Stone Archway was inaugurated on October 1, 2001. Its six pillars are crowned with phoenix sculptures in different shapes. The central beam highlights the bronze sign of Fenghuang Mountain. The outer gates on both sides have large carvings in relief to depict the legends of the Longquan Temple and the Fenghuang Mountain. In particular, two group carvings respectively have a dragon head and a phoenix head in hiding to support folk customs tourism. Touching the phoenix head can bring happiness and avoid misfortune. This carries the greetings of the Chinese people for happy family, prosperous career, thriving national destiny, and eternal happiness and virtues. The couplet written on the pillars of the main gate extols the coexistence of Buddhism and Taoism, and the streamer of the gate highlights the Confucian ideas. The couplet on the inner side of the pillars of the main gate embodies the nature, history and culture of the Fenghuang Mountain and the streamer explains the rule that the universe has created everything on earth. This represents the supreme standard for human behaviors. The couplets and streamers echo the architectural style of the archway and add charms to this structure. NextLongquan Temple
